Oil-based paints take about 6-8 hours to dry and 24 hours to recoat. Latex paints take about 1 hour to dry and can be recoated in 4 hours. This time might increase in a humid climate.
CAN I SLEEP IN A ROOM I JUST REPAINTED?
Generally, yes, it’s safe to sleep in a room that you painted that day, especially if you painted the room earlier in the day rather than later and if you ventilate the area well. However, leave the room if you begin to feel lightheaded or dizzy.
